About Shirin
Shirin Azad is an ex-headhunter, investor and philanthropist from London, where she currently resides with her family. In the middle of her career, she relocated to Hamburg, Germany to be with her then newly-wedded husband.
Shirin immersed herself in German life exploring several of her different passion projects from buying and selling property, property design to studies in counselling. However, following the traumatic premature birth of her son, Shirin and her family decided to move back to London, where she pursued her lifelong desire to become an Author.
In her younger years throughout university, she was known to pen many romance dramas as a hobby, but she worried that the early 90’s was ill-prepared for an ethnic minority female author.
She laid her writing dream dormant and decided to enter the corporate world, loosely visiting and revisiting her passion for writing again in her mid-20s, during a spontaneous move to Rome to take a corporate role in high-end fashion. Though again, she put her writing on the back burner to focus on her corporate career.
Over the last few years, Shirin has rediscovered her love for literature, particularly in romance, tragedy and drama. Now settled back in the UK with her family, Shirin has finally picked up her pen again and embarked on her true passion, writing.
Married for ten years, Shirin lives with her husband Yasin and their son Zack. Yasin is a serial entrepreneur and investor across various industries ranging from finance to biotech. Originally from Hamburg, Yasin is also a film producer. Their nine year old son, Zack, is very fond of Lego and all things Marvel.
Originally from Birmingham, Shirin’s parents relocated to London with their five children when she was 10 years old. Growing up in a multicultural city, Shirin, like many of her peers, was determined to travel and experience different cultures and nationalities which inevitably led to an interest in foreign literature, foreign films and languages.
Nowadays, while Yasin spends most of his free time exploring the foundation and contemplation of spirituality and awareness, Shirin takes a keen interest in politics and contemporary culture and practices kickboxing to stay fit.
